CE & In-Service Training
MONTHLY Professional Training and Caregiver Stabilization System
SHS&S provides non-medical continuing education (CE) and in-service training for medical, non-medical and other professionals, plus a caregiver stabilization program and an operating system that tracks real results from real caregivers.
1. Our approach
A full-service caregiving system
Structured Holistic Services & Schedules, LLC (SHS&S) provides a non-medical caregiver support system that brings all of our services and products under one operating system:
- Our Plan of Care Manual
- The SHS&S Operating System
- Our caregiver support and stabilization program
- Professional training
- Monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting for up to a full year
Together, these give professionals, caregivers, families and organizations a structured way to track real results from the caregivers and professionals using our services.
2. Who we serve
Medical, non-medical and professionals in other fields
Our supportive services begin with a single four-hour class. The training was created for caregivers, families and healthcare professionals, and has now expanded to serve medical and non-medical professionals and those in other fields.
It brings together everyone involved with the caregiver and patient, so we support not just the patient, but the caregiver and patient as a unit.
Where it starts
First, we stabilize the caregiver
Our services begin with The Manual, which helps caregivers implement our caregiver support and stabilization programs.
The Caregiver's Manual gives every family one structured, personalized Plan of Care to work from, so the caregiver has a steady foundation before anything else is added.
See the Plan of Care & ManualNow with a stabilized caregiver, we can focus on our professional education.
3. Professional education & caregiver stabilization
Built on 30+ years of caregiving experience
Our focus is not to duplicate the specialized training or compliance programs each profession already requires. Instead, we address the shared need for caregiver burnout prevention, stabilization and continuity of care, through practical education and a working operating system that supports implementation, documentation and reporting.
4. The four-hour training
Designed around busy professionals
The four-hour training is the entryway. Professionals learn the causes, effects, consequences and solutions to caregiver burnout, and are introduced to a complete system of practical tools and resources they can apply and share with the caregivers and families they serve.
5. How the process works
Step 1: Professionals complete the four-hour training
Many professionals who work directly with caregivers and families experience burnout themselves. This is not a coincidence: they are part of the same ecosystem. When one person is overwhelmed, it affects everyone involved, including the patient.
Step 2: Caregivers and families receive practical tools
Through our 4-6 week caregiver stabilization program, caregivers learn practical tools and resources for their caregiving journey, including how to care for their own needs so they don't compromise their own health and well-being while caring for others.
Step 3: The Operating System tracks participation
After about five weeks, each caregiver completes a short completion sheet of about 10 yes/no questions and receives a certificate. The system organizes participant information, completion records and caregiver feedback, showing that real caregivers took the course with real results.
Step 4: Organizations receive ongoing reports
The same yes/no sheet is repeated each quarter as a check-in. Monthly, quarterly and yearly reports let the organization follow participation, program completion and the benefits caregivers report over time, with follow-up for one year.
6. Three main services
Supporting caregivers and the professionals who serve them
Educate and stabilize the caregiver
We educate caregivers about burnout prevention and stabilization, and help them find and train additional caregivers who can help a few days a week. That gives more than respite: consistent support, so the main caregiver doesn't lose their own health while caring for others.
Teach practical application
We guide caregivers in using available resources, organizing care and building a sustainable support system.
The SHS&S Operating System
Tracks each caregiver through the 4-6 week stabilization program and records their feedback on how it benefited the family and the patient. Ongoing check-ins document whether the program keeps benefiting the caregiver, patient and family, so professionals can document continuity of care.
In their own words
What caregivers and professionals are saying
"It gave me peace of mind to know I had a plan in place, tailored to his needs. I recommend this program to anyone needing support with caregiving."
"I am more organized with my family responsibilities, her medicine, doctor's appointments, and her daily care needs."
"Even 500 kilometers away, I was able to equip our caregiver with the skills she needed."
7. The SHS&S Operating System
The same consistent design principle as our Manual
Our Plan of Care Manual is designed to be personalized by the caregivers who use it. We built the Operating System on the same principle: one consistent structure that adapts to each agency's needs.
It is a structured portal where each agency uploads information from the caregivers and families it serves. From this we create monthly, quarterly and yearly reports for the agency and its professionals.
It is more than training. The system gives a consistent foundation while accommodating the needs of caregivers, families and professionals from many fields, medical and non-medical, across a variety of organizations. It supports ongoing monitoring, documentation and continuity of care, as proof that real individuals benefited.
Questions agencies often ask
- What will our professionals receive? Four hours of practical education.
- What can we offer our caregivers and families? A 4-6 week stabilization program, a Plan of Care Manual and tools for building support systems.
- What happens after the training? Professionals use the SHS&S Operating System to track each caregiver who takes the 4-6 week program, where caregivers create their personalized plan of care.
- What can the Operating System show over time? Monthly, quarterly and yearly reports on participation and the benefits caregivers report.
8. Continuing education, not credit units
Why SHS&S provides CE and does not award credit units
SHS&S provides continuing education through a non-medical caregiver stabilization program combining education, practical tools, and an Operating System for tracking participation and documenting service activity.
Why we chose not to provide CEU accreditation
Our training resonates with medical, non-medical, and caregiving professionals across multiple professions and accrediting organizations, each with its own standards, competencies, compliance requirements, and credit criteria. So rather than center our program on one profession's accreditation requirements, it is the receiving agency or organization that determines whether our training meets its professional development or in-service education requirements or qualifies for continuing education.
Our educational materials does however draw on professional caregiving experience, established training, and applicable professional standards.
What professionals take away
Professionals leave with a repeatable SYSTEM they can use with the caregivers and families they serve. Through education, practical tools, and the SHS&S Operating System, professionals can support caregiver stabilization, strengthen caregiving practices, and promote continuity of care. The Operating System also provides documented tracking and reporting of participation and services, helping demonstrate how SHS&S supports real caregivers, families, and individuals requiring total care.
Our approach also addresses areas of professional practice reflected in standards and competencies recognized by organizations such as ACMA and CCMC, particularly in supporting patients and families. SHS&S is not designed to measure independent clinical outcomes, nor does it guarantee acceptance for professional credit by every organization.
Monthly training
Who should attend the SHS&S monthly training classes and why?
Caregiver burnout can be a life threatening situation that requires everyone involved with the patient and caregiver to understand the causes, effects, consequences, and solutions to caregiver burnout. This is the only way to better serve, support and protect both the caregiver and the person receiving care. For this reason at SHS&S we’ve decided to make our FOUR HOUR Monthly training available for everyone directly and indirectly involved with the caregiver and patients care. So who does this include?
- Medical and Non-Medical Healthcare Professionals
- Community Organizations serving caregivers, patients, and families
- Family Caregivers and Families of individuals receiving care
Why is it vital that caregivers and families attend?
We learned from previous in-person classes the value of including caregivers and families in the same educational conversation with professionals. Their personal experiences and audience participation provided perspectives that professionals cannot gain just by learning about caregiving alone. Just as a doctor asks a patient questions to understand where and what hurts before determining the appropriate treatment, we need to hear directly from caregivers to understand what their challenges are and how to identify more effective ways to support them both. This is the only way the caregiver can provide quality and continuity of care to the patient.
So in a way, the Caregiver is the Guest of Honor in our Monthly Training!
Both of the following video clips of one of our monthly classes is made up of professionals and caregivers showing the benefit of including caregivers and families in discussions about them to get their personal experience and perspective. In this discussion we were discussing the Gene Hackman Family Tragedy where the wife as a caregiver died first and Gene Hackman and the dog died afterwards. It demonstrate the invaluable role of the caregiver and the tragic results of what happens to a non supported and protected caregiver.

The SHS&S approach
Recognizing that caregiver burnout cannot be addressed by educating only the caregiver or professional, at SHS&S we’ve found a simple way to bring Everyone involved in the patient's circle under one training class! Going back to that Doctor patient analogy, if we continue to provide solutions before understanding WHY caregivers burnout we may accidentally prescribe Headache Medication for the patients stomach ulcers! So by coming together as our videos above show we can protect and support them both as a unit.
